Analisis perbedaan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal siswa sekolah menengah atas berdasarkan gender

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan tingkat keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Komunikasi efektif yang sulit diterapkan oleh siswa menyebabkan siswa masih seringnya berbohong, menggunakan kalimat sarkasme atau sindiran yang merendahkan, kurang bisa menghargai lawan bicara dan mengeluarkan kata-kata kotor baik siswa laki-laki maupun perempuan. Di sisi lain komunikasi juga menjadi bagian integral dari kehidupan dan sebagai bentuk tindakan untuk membangun hubungan sosial dengan orang lain. Penelitin ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dengan analisis data menggunakan analisis independent sample t-test. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 130, 65 siswa perempuan dan 65 siswa laki-laki dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling dalam pengambilan sampel. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal siswa laki-laki dengan perempuan. Namun, guru dan stakeholder pendidikan perlu menyadari temuan ini dan mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang mendukung perkembangan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal bagi kedua jenis kelamin.
