Meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa pendidikan sejarah melalui scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL)

Abstract

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) adalah pendekatan berbasis penelitian yang bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran dan pembelajaran melalui refleksi kritis dan evaluasi sistematis. Dalam pendidikan sejarah, SoTL dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir historis, analisis sumber, dan kemampuan penelitian mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggambarkan praktek pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam pendidikan sejarah bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki dampak strategi pengajaran dan pembelajaran khusus terhadap keterlibatan mahasiswa calaon guru sejarah dalam pembelajaran sejarah, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan praktek pengajaran. Metode penelitian ini ialah menggunakan metode eksperimen di mana membandingkan kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitiannya ialah terjadi peningkatan rata-rata sekitar 53,4% pada kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan praktek langsung dalam pembelajaran sejarahnya. Pembelajaran dengan melibatkan langsung mahasiswa dapat memfasilitasi kemampuan mahasiswa untuk menganalisis sumber-sumber primer dan sekunder, menyusun argumen sejarah, dan mengembangkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang konten sejarah terutama dalam implementasi pengajaran sejarah.
